Abraham Youngs - Susannah Horton

Phebe Ann Youngs was born 21 June 1818 at Charlotteville Twp., Norfolk Co., Ontario, Canada, and died in 1880/81 Grand Ledge, Eaton Co., Mi. She married in 1837 probably in Oxford Co., Ont., Canada Samuel Dorland Doxsie. She was the daughter of Abraham Youngs and his wife Susannah Horton.

Abraham Youngs was born c1789 in N.J., and died 12 September 1879 in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada. On 2 Aug 1810 Abraham Youngs of Townsend Twp. requested a lease in Windham Twp., and stated he had been in the province upwards of 4 years. In the war of 1812 he served in Shaw's Company and Daniel McCall's Company of the Norfolk County Militia on the British side. He was an elder in the Presbyterian church. Abraham was the son of Benjamin Youngs and his wife Abigail. He was named in his fathers will. Abraham married Susannah Horton, born c1791 in the U.S. She was the daughter of Samuel Horton.
There is a Samuel Horton listed in the 1790 census of Dutchess Co. N.Y., and in the 1840 census of Leicester, Livingston Co., N.Y. he is listed on the census of revolutionary pensioners.
In the 1852 census of Windham Twp. Abraham was aged 63 and Susannah aged 61.

Benjamin Youngs was born c1750, and died 11 October 1827 in Windham Twp., Norfolk Co., Ont., Canada. His will was dated 1 Oct 1827 naming his wife Abegil and children Phebe, Thomas, John, Gabriel, Abraham, Thomas, Elizabeth More, Sarah Wilcox, Mary Reed, Lidia Links, and Abegil McNeal. Benjamin was in Norfolk County by 7 Apr1807 when he was given lease documents. He appeared in the 1809 assessment of Windham Twp. He married Abigail.
