[1879?] Wanting marriage record of Alex & Nancy in late 1820's. In Amherst Co Va. his father, Allen Blair made a trust deed to Alex & wife Nancy in 1828. They were in Hardeman Co., Tenn. in the 1830's. In 1840's in Tippah Co., Miss. Wife's name in 1850 was Nancy C., b. Ala., dau Eliz]* Inventory of the estate filed 4 Jan 1822. Includes 3 1/4 sections of land, SW of 18 T2 R2W, SW of 17 T2 R2W, NE 1/4 Sec 20 T2 R2W, and in Pro. Rec. 3, p. 142 is an appraisal of 18 slaves, $5555.00. Pro. Rec. 2, p. 260. Jonathan Hardy. The original papers re this estate, show bills to "Captain Jonathan Hardy". This is perhaps a Militia title, as the roster of Burrus' Regiment, for the War of 1812, shown "Jonathan Hrdy, private." The Widow, Susanna Hardy married Spencer Sullivan. In the file is a papr dated 27 Nov 1821 with Susanna Sullivan's signature and bills of S. F. Sullivan for boarding Mary, Susannah, Nancy, Rufus, Hester Ann, and Sarah Ann for 1821, 1822; for Rufus, Hester Ann and Sarah and Susan, 1824; Rufus, Hester Ann, Sarah Ann for 1825; and Hester Ann, Sarah Ann, and Susan for 1826; the latter sworn to in Franklin Co Ala. Mrs. T. P. Hughes jr. of Jackson, Miss states Susannah Hardy was a daughter of Abraham Sheppard Sr. and his wife Susannah as proved by the will of her brother John E. Sheppard who died Richland Co., S.C. 1808. Will bk E, p. 136 in which he names his parents above, and his brother A. Sheppard, Sisters Ann Westcott, Elizabeth Hardy, and Susanna Hardy. She states she lost trace of Susanna [Sheppard] hardy Sullivan after 1826, but has photostats of papers from the Raleigh, N.C. archives showing Samuel R.[H.] Doxey was still acting as guardian up into the 1830's, when he listed all the children of Jonathan Hardy and wife susanna by their full names.
