Johnson of Jackson, Tn Mother: Cora With the exception of the few years during which he was a student at the University of Mississippi, the entire life of Wall Doxey, attorney at law and now district attorney for the third judicial district of Mississippi, has been passed at Holly Springs, Marshall Co, Ms., the town where he was born. The public grade and high schools of Holly Springs furnished Wall with his elementary education, and he was graduated from the high school as "first honor man". He then matriculated in Sept 1909 in the Univ of Ms, from the literary dept of that institution, receiving the B. A. degree in 1913, and from the law dept the degree of LL. B. in 1914. He completed a six years course of study in five years with honor to himself and credit to the institution. He was not only president of both his law and literary classes but represented the univ. in the state oratorical contest, winning several medals. Mr. Doxey began the practice of law at Holly Springs immediately after his graduation from the univ and has continued in practice ever since. From Jan 1, 1916 until Jan 1, 1924 he held the position of prosecuting attorney for Marshall Co., and on the latter date became district attorney for the third Judicial dist. of the state in which capacity he is now serving. Mr. Doxey is a democrat in his political views, and in his religious associations is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, South. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Masonic order, being a Shriner and a member of Wahabi Temple and Lodge No. 1099, Benevolent Protective order of Elks of Holly Springs, and has held various offices in the local lodges of both orders. He is also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and has filled offices in that Organization. Hindman Doxey of Holly Springs, Ms. Born: 16 Jan 1899 Holly Springs, Ms. Father: John S. Doxey Mother: Sara C. Jones Hindman Doxey, a brother of Wall Doxey, is also a lawyer of Holly Springs, and has efficiently served as prosecuting attorney of Marshall Co. since Jan 1, 1924. He obtained his elementary education in the public grade and high schools of that place. After graduating from the high school in 1916, he entered the Univ. of Ms and received the degree of B. S. from the literary dept. of the Univ. in 1920, and that of LL. B., with distinction, from the law dept in 1921. Various honors were conferred upon him while in school, being president of his class and of the Y.M.C.A. and he represented the Univ. on winning debating teams. Mr. Doxey began the practice of law at Holly Springs in 1921. He was elected County prosecuting attorney, assuming office on Jan 1, 1924, and still serving in that capacity. During the World war he was in the military service from July 18, 1918, until Dec 5, 1918, at the Infantry Officers Training Camp, at Fort Sheridan, IL. and was assigned to Camp Pike when the armistice was signed. In his political views he is a democrat, and in his religious convictions a member of the Presbyterian church. Fraternally Hindman Doxey is affiliated with the Masonic order, Lodge No. 1099, Benevolent Protectice Order of Elks, of Holly Springs Lodge No. 30, and Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Holly Springs, and has held various ofices in all these orders. he is also a member of the American Legion, Hamilton Gholson Post. No. 39, of Holly Springs, in which he has held offices, and of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Both brothers are members of the Mississippi Bar Association and are lawyers of prominence in this section of the state, ably filling the offices to which they have been elected.
